The Lithuanian Population and Rare Disease Biobank collects biological samples and health data from both healthy individuals and those with rare diseases, offering researchers access to high-quality, anonymized materials for scientific studies. By utilizing existing samples, scientists can streamline research efforts, reduce the need for repeated recruitment, and accelerate advancements in diagnostics, treatments, and public health. To enable this, the biobank required a robust and scalable system to centralize participant information and biological sample data while ensuring compliance with strict ethical guidelines. Fragmented legacy processes had limited operational growth and introduced risk. A unified digital platform was developed to integrate participant onboarding, sample tracking, and data management into a single, real-time system with multi-user roles, facilitating seamless collaboration among researchers, administrators, and participants.
